The great sailor Vasco da Gama with his 170 men in three vessels, landed on this beach for the first time on 27th of May, 1498. This sandy stretch is studded with rock that protrudes into the sea. Another famous attraction of this beach is a 800 years old temple.

Marari Beach - Lies just 12km from Alleppey and 60 km from Cochin city, Marari Beach got its name from the local fishing village Mararikulam. It is a long sandy stretch which is dotted with swaying palms and majestic coconut groves. It is an ideal beach to be in peace and tranquility, away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
