Dutch Antilles Officially Known As the Netherlands Antilles

The Dutch Antilles, officially known as The Netherlands Antilles are five Caribbean Islands, forming an autonomous part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. One group is in the south composed of Curacao and Bonaire, near Aruba and the Venezuelan coast and one group is in the north, 800 miles apart, and east of Puerto Rico that includes St Maarten, St Eustatius and Saba.

Here is a brief description of the islands:


St Maarten, which shares a tiny island with its neighbor French St Martin, is known for its exotic beaches with idyllic white sand and blue waters. St Maarten also offers the opportunity of Duty Free Shopping in an array of electronics and apparel stores in the capital city of Philipsburg.

St Eustatius better known as Statia was once one of the most prominent commercial ports in the Caribbean. It is of volcanic origin and a recommended destination for Scuba Diving Caribbean. The capital city is Oranjestad.

Saba, the smallest island on the group, is little known but once you discover this enclave of unspoiled landscapes you will be captivated. The inhabitants are descendants of 17th century pioneers scattered in four picturesque small villages. The Sabans are English speaking people that will make sure your visit is one to remember.

Curacao is the largest of the Dutch Antilles, located between Aruba and Bonaire, known together as the ABC Islands. The island has more than 30 Caribbean beaches, some are sandy
